Biography
This is the band MORPHOSIS, a progressive band, from The Netherlands, playing for a rather long time together now.
They are mixing many kinds of music like symphonic rock of the good old days, jazz and jazzrock, classical music, folk, good rock music, avant-garde and many other kinds of stuff. Of course influenced by several musicians and by these kinds of music, MORPHOSIS also have their personal ideas, which creates a clearly personal colour, not directly comparable to other bands.
Peter Swart and Peter Vander Laan started MORPHOSIS several years ago with several guest musicians over the years. They have composed several songs, not recorded on any disc, but some of them appear on their CDs in 'a new jacket' as well as on their solo projects.
Note that Peter Swart and Peter Vander Laan as well as Gerard Molenaar are doing their own projects as well. On the LINKS page in the Menu you can go to these projects and own sites of these musicians.
The official band members nowadays are Peter Swart (keyboards, guitars, bass, percussives, voices), Peter Vander Laan (voice and voices, keys, flute, sax and effects) and Gerard Molenaar (keyboards, 6- and 12-string guitars, percussives).
In the meantime MORPHOSIS have recorded and published their first CD "SECRETS OF THE COSMOS" (which friends and musicians like Arend Niks, Jan van Wessel and Rob Pols - all three on drums - and René Verkaik lent their talents for, many thanks guys!), dealing with idealistic and alien life outside, whereas their second CD "TIMES" has been based on several subjects about time in general (be it nowadays, seasonlike or history, but more or less a bit metaphysical), whereas the third and forthcoming CD, not yet recorded and still without a title, will deal with society, economy, ecology, humanity and mentality in general, so more realistic than their two CDs before. Musicwise this CD will also be different, the musicians in the band are still developing themselves as musicians (who doesn't?).
Just be surprised constantly about what the band will be doing. They have expressed: "We hope people will appreciate and enjoy our music and lyrics and items. We invite you to comment, you can easily be in contact with us, by e-mail."
